Turquoise Path to Beyond
Turquoise Path to Beyond: I have finally taken some time and gone back through some of my photos. 3 weeks, or more, ago my parents came to visit and we took them on a bit of a tourist run. We went to Old Montreal, up to the lookout on the mountain, and to St. Joseph's Oratory. The Oratory was probably the highlight of the day. For them, because there was an english mass on, and for us because it was one of the most uniquely designed and adorned cathedrals we have seen on our travels around the world. It had a very "local" artisan feel to it. The stained glass was quite original and the metal work and statues were like nothing that I have seen before in a church. It is definitely worth a trip! This is the crypt hall where hundreds, if not thousands, of prayer candles were lit (at $2-5 dollars a pop, I wonder how the church makes it's money!?!). Let me tell you, the temperature jumped about 10 degrees on entering the hall!
