Feels like Fall
Feels like Fall: Today feels like a solid November day here in Montreal. But it is above zero and that is at least a step in the right direction. As far as news goes the only thing I have to report is that I am severely addicted to the geeky, and slightly cheesy new Doctor Who series. I am one episode away from the conclusion of S3 and my wife is laughing at my addiction. Oh well, we all have our guilty pleasures!
Upon hearing the music of Doctor Who I remembered a birthday party back when I was (maybe) 9. Everyone was watching TV in the basement when the opening music of DW came on and very shortly there after Keith's Mom had a helper in the kitchen. She asked me what was up or what I needed and I replied that I was just wondering if there was anything I could help with. Well that instantly raised questions in her mind of course and she finally got to the root of the problem which was that as a boy who was raised with no TV I had not yet been desensitized to the "scary" sounds and visuals of television. Much to my shame she made the boys change the channel to My Little Pony or something like that. I am older now and like horror, heavy metal and FPS games...totally desensitized(and I still have very few friends but the ones I have like My Little Pony too...right?)!
